Why You...Yes YOU...Should Volunteer To Teach Children // Jason Souza

“You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens are above the earth." Deuteronomy 11:18–21 (ESV)

"I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way..."
Deuteronomy 11:18-21 (Whitney Houston paraphrase)

There are any number of reasons why you should give up some time to minister to our children in Kids World. You really only need one.

  • Children are important to God so they should be important to you too.

  • Kids are more open to learning about Jesus and his life, and are more likely to accept the gift of salvation.

  • The impact you have by teaching kids passes on to their children and their children's children.

  • Serving children will make you more patient, and you can't tell me you don't need to be more patient.

  • The little bit of time you'll spend preparing to teach them is also an excellent opportunity for Him to teach you.

  • Regularly interacting with children will remind you what child-like faith looks like, and might help you rediscover yours.

  • Our kids need godly role models.

  • One of the best ways to demonstrate love to parents - particularly those new to, or visiting our community - is by loving their children.

  • It's a great way to begin developing relationships with our young people, and research proves that these relationships make an enormous difference later in their lives when many are tempted to wander from their faith..

Any or all of this for thirty minutes of volunteering a handful of times per year. How can you say no to that?

Why would you say no to that?

Think about it.
