Your Real Life Is In Your Head // Jason Souza

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2 (ESV)

Many times, the start of the new year seems like a good time to go to work on remaking ourselves. We make resolutions. We write goals. We set plans.

But, too often, we fail to recognize that who and what we are on the outside is merely a reflection of who we are on the inside. All the goals, resolutions, and plans in the world mean nothing if you don't first change your mind and thoughts. We can't possibly hope to change our words, our attitudes, or our actions without first changing the mindset that produces them.

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." Philippians 4:8 (ESV)

Fill your mind with the truth, beauty, righteousness, and holiness of Christ, and you will find that mindset beginning to change. And as that mindset changes, everything else will follow suit.

This year, you can focus on changing the physical body that you will inhabit for a little while. Or you can begin to work with Him to transform the you that will dwell with Him for all eternity.

THINK about it.
