"Don't Let Your Heart Be Hardened" ~ Petra
Don't let your heart be hardened
May you always know the cure
Keep it broken before Jesus
Keep it thankful, meek, and pure

In Sunday's message, I laid out the case that the unpardonable sin - attributing the works of God to the devil - is the culmination of a process that begins with the hardening of the heart. While the unpardonable sin is the final step of the journey, there are other mileposts along the way. A failure to understand the things of God and his kingdom. An inability to recognize God's hand at work around you.

"But how can I tell if my heart is hardening?"

Just like any heart condition, your symptoms will tell you a great deal.

You might not be a certified Christian counselor (the intended audience of this article), but you can certainly use the list of characteristics provided to diagnose the condition of your heart.

If it turns out your heart has become hardened, or is hardening, don't give up hope. There's a cure.

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you...Ezekiel 36:25–27a (ESV)

Think about it.
