No Regerts! // Jason Souza

Parents!

I come to you with a message from the future. Maybe you have heard this before. Maybe not. It is a message of sorrow. Yet, also, a message of hope.

By the time your children reach adulthood, you will have regrets.

You will regret things you did which you shouldn't have done. You will regret things you should have done which you didn't do.

You may even regret the things that you did do, which you should have done, but did not do as well as you wish you had done them. (Read it a few times; it will make sense eventually.)

Regrets related to your parenting are unavoidable. But, with some intentionality on your part, you may be able to avoid some of the more common regrets.

Take a look at this list of ten common parenting regrets, and how you can avoid them.

Perhaps the most important line in this article comes at the very end.

"...most parents do not plan to have regrets; they just don’t plan NOT to."

Think about it.
