For What We Have Received, Make Us Grateful // Jason Souza

"...give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
1 Thessalonians 5:18(ESV)

Gratitude is not something that just happens. The ruler of this world has orchestrated an environment in which it is so much easier to focus on the negatives, the wrongs, the slights. Why focus on what I have when it is so much more satisfying to fixate on what I do not?

Gratitude is something that we must intentionally cultivate. We must make room in our day, regularly, to consider the bounty bestowed upon us.

Here are some tips on how to get some thanks so we can give some thanks.

So this Thursday, Turkey Day, engage in the obligatory "What are you thankful for this year?" roundtable. But try something new this year.

Do the same thing on Friday. And then on Saturday. And then on Sunday. And then...

Think about it.
