Yep. We’re going to talk prayer again. Because it’s just that important.
Now that we’re all clear that there is no good reason not to pray, AND we have a clearer picture of what prayer isn’t, that still doesn’t necessarily make it any easier for us.
We sit silently, knowing we need to say something, but not actually clear on what it should be or what it should sound like.
Ideally, you will grow to a point where your prayer life is very much like chatting with a friend over coffee. But until you get there, perhaps you could start with some established prayer types used down through the ages.
The following article details some of the time-honored forms of prayer saints of the past have relied on. And while the author doesn’t necessarily subscribe to our faith tradition, her analysis is pretty spot on.
